July 13th & 14th (Saturday & Sunday 9am – 5pm ) Shark Con 2019 will take place at the Florida Fairgrounds, Tampa, FL and Owl’s Nest Sanctuary will be there. SharkCon is an event suitable for the casual consumer of shark lore, to the most intense aficionado of shark science. If it’s about sharks, it’s at SharkCon! Besides meeting us, there numerous FREE engaging activities for you and the kids. There are speakers from Shark Week, National Geographic and Animal Planet. This includes Susan Backlinie of the movie Jaws, McComb-Kobza, Emma Cassagrande, Liz Parkinson, Cristina Zenato, and Paul Clerkin to name a few. In addition, you can really geek out with members of the cast of SpongeBob SquarePants!
April 6th (Saturday) Sea Turtle Awareness Day 2019 (8:00 AM to 1:00 PM) We will be joining Clearwater Marine Aquarium for their Sea Turtle Conservation Team for a special day focused on sea turtle nesting and conservation at Pier 60 in Clearwater Beach!
Activities and Fun for the Family:

Nest site and other educational displays.
Live music, local vendors and food!
March 18th & 31st (From: Saturday, Mar 10, 2018, 9:00 am
To: Sunday, Apr 8, 2018, 6:00 pm) Clearwater Marine Aquarium Reptilepalooza – Join us and learn all about these cold-blooded creatures with fun activities. Get up close and see live tortoises every day and meet snakes, skinks, alligators and other rescued reptiles on select dates. Activities will include: Tortoise vs. turtle activity. Mock sea turtle triage and intake station for kids. Native vs. non-native species activity. Sea turtle hatchling hazard game. Activity – What is a reptile? Various live reptile presentations on select dates.

March 10-April 8: Keep Florida Wild. — Rescued sulcata and red-footed tortoises will be at Reptilepalooza every day. Learn more about these rescued tortoises.
Saturday, March 10: FWC Gopher Tortoise Program. — Gopher tortoises. (Rescued, non-releasable wildlife.)
March 18 (Sunday) Owl’s Nest Sanctuary for Wildlife — Argentine black and white tegu, Florida king snake, scarlet king snake, brown and red corn snakes, lavender corn snake, small Burmese python, and Columbia red tail boas. (Non-releasable, non-native or exotic animal rescues.)
March 31 (Saturday) Owl’s Nest Sanctuary for WildlifeSunday, April 8: Amazing Animals — alligator, Burmese python, sulcata tortoise and red footed tortoise. (Non-releasable, non-native or exotic animal rescues.)
March 3rd (Sunday 12 PM – 4 PM) Colt Creek Preserve in Join us for “Get to know Colt Creek!” hosted by The Friends of Colt Creek State Park. Discover all the wonderful things this state park has to offer! There will be food, music, nature displays and activities, and opportunities to hike, bike, fish, canoe, kayak, and ride the trails. Trams will give you guided tours; the Florida Sport Horse Club will again offer “pony rides” to kids of all ages. Everything is FREE after regular park admission. Colt Creek Preserve, 16000 SR 471

February 2nd (Saturday 10 AM to 4 PM) Raptor Fest at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve – Join us for the Birds of Prey event featuring trained raptors in free flight, presentations of native raptor species, photo ops with live birds, tram tours of the park, bird walks and much more. Food and drinks available for purchase. Visit the Owl’s Nest tent and meet some of our Wildlife Ambassadors, you don’t know who might be there…. January 19th, 20th & 21st (Event is 10 AM to 5 PM with Owl’s Nest 1 PM to 5 PM) Clearwater Marine Aquarium – Join us at the Florida Birds of Prey, a special live exhibit featuring raptors. Learn all about Florida Raptors! Owl’s Nest Sanctuary for Wildlife, The Narrows at George C. McGough Nature Park and more will be exhibiting rescued birds of prey. Get up close to owls, hawks, kestrels and Sarge the Bald Eagle (Saturday only.) Special Live Exhibit is in The Atlantis Theater and is included with general admission.
December 1st & 2nd (Saturday 10 to 5 & Sunday 10 to 4) Annual Lutz Arts & Crafts Festival – Join us at Keystone Prep High School, 18105 Gunn Hwy. (north of Van Dyke), Odessa 33556. Admission is FREE The 39th Annual Juried Arts & Crafts Holiday Show, with over 300 vendors, a large Food Court and very ample parking ($5 per car parking benefiting the school.) This very popular show is always a big hit with families enjoying a fun outing in a festive holiday atmosphere. Handcrafted jewelry, original artwork, photography, woodcraft and metal work, plants and yard art.
May 12th (Saturday) CMA – Sea Turtle Awareness Day – Join us and Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s Sea Turtle Team for a special day focused on sea turtle nesting and conservation at Pier 60 in Clearwater Beach 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM! Learn what you can do to help protect these endangered marine animals and participate in coastal cleanup activities on the beach and in the water.
May 5th (Saturday) Tarpon Springs Eco Fest 2018 The City of Tarpon Springs Recreation Division has teamed up with Keep Pinellas Beautiful for a great day of environmental awareness. Join us from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Craig Park for an afternoon of community, eco friendly vendors, music, food and fun!
